Creating Movies out of your Game Demos using Adobe Premiere
Filter Effects
A filter effects the appearance of a single shot or track of video. Some examples of this would be tinting the video with a color or adjusting the brightness or contrast of a scene. There are many type of filters included in Premiere, they all get applied the same way. Below I will show you how to tint a shot with a color.
Adding a Filter Effect

In the effects window, click on the video tab to look at the video filter effects. The filter effects are broken into catergories based on effect type. Click on the Image Control folder and locate the Tint filter. Drag the Tint filter from the effects window and drop it on the the video clip on the Video 1B track on the timeline.

After you drop the effect on the video clip, the effects properties window will open up. It is here that you adjust the properties of the effect you just applied. For the tint effect click on the Map Black color to select the color to you want the blacks in the video tinted to, you can do the same to the Map White color.

As you select your colors, you should see the results on the record side of the monitor window.

After dropping the filter on the video clip, you will notice a greenish line along the top of the video clip on the timeline. This is a visual indication that a filter has been applied to that clip.

The filter effects, like the transition effects, need to be rendered before you can see the results when playing the timeline. The next section will show you how to render your timeline.
