Creating Movies out of your Game Demos using Adobe Premiere
Editing with Adobe Premiere

I like to edit my game demos to music. The easiest way to get a music track directly on your timeline is to drag it from the project window to the begining one of the audio tracks on the timeline and release. You should now see a graphic representation of the song on the timeline.

Navigating the Timeline
To play back the timeline, press the play button in the program window and the song will begin to play. You can also play and stop the timeline by pressing the spacebar on the keyboard. The current position marker in the Timeline window will begin to scroll as the song plays. You can drag the current position marker around by grabbing it by the blue handle and moving the mouse right and left to go to different parts of the timeline.
Timeline Scale
You can adjust the scale of the timeline by using the Navigator Palette or selecting a timescale from the lower left portion of the Timeline window.
Adding Video to the Timeline

To start adding video to the timeline make sure the Video 1A track is selected in the Timeline window. It should appear in bold type, if it is not in bold type click on it. Make sure no audio tracks are in bold. If so click on that audio track to deselect it

Drag the blue current position marker in the timeline window back to the beginning of the timeline and press I on the keyboard or click the right hand bracket on the program monitor to set the point where the source material will begin.

Drag a demo clip from the project window to the source monitor.

Play the clip or drag the current location marker to the point where you want the clip to begin. Mark the in-point by clicking on the left hand bracket or pressing I on the keyboard. Play the clip or drag the current location marker to the point where you want the clip to end. Mark the out-point by clicking on the right hand bracket or pressing O on the keyboard. Then click on the Overlay button in the lower left corner of the Source Monitor.

You should now see a video clip at the beginning of your timeline on track 1A. Drag the blue current position marker back to the top of the timeline and press the spacebar to play back the edit.

Continue to edit clips to the timeline. Find the next in-point on the timeline and mark it as indicated above. Load the next source clip.etc…..
